Welcome to the Mill Creek Football Team! We are looking forward to a great season together. Our teams are part of the Dexter Touchdown Club which serves the football program in grades 7-12. We are a parent volunteer group that does fundraising and helps get info out to the community for the football program. We do our best to provide what the players and coaches need that pay to play fees don’t cover. Every spring we host a golf outing and this year, thanks to our generous sponsors and golfers, we raised close to $8,000. One major expense we took on this year is purchasing away uniforms for the Varsity team. Please help us start building your child’s team for the future! You can start by checking all the links below to get involved and avoid missing out.

Registration is open August 1st:
There are two places to sign up your player for Mill Creek Football.

1. Visit Community Education on the Dexter Schools website to register. The pay to play fee is $150 for the first sport your child participates in at Mill Creek. Athletic scholarship applications are available on the Mill Creek Athletics website.

2. Complete the Dexter Touchdown Club player registration on our website. The $65 fee includes pictures, socks, a yard sign and misc. expenses.

DTC scholarships are available by emailing: info@dextertouchdownclub.com

ON SALE NOW: Tickets for the 3rd annual Dreadnaught Duck Race which takes place during Dexter Daze. Duck tickets can be purchased for $10/duck or $50 for a flock of 6 at: http://www.DexterTouchdownClub.com.

Maybe your duck will come in 1st place and you’ll win $500 !

Practices: Both teams will practice between Wylie and Bates. The new grass behind Mill Creek will likely not be ready for us this fall. Sending your child with a snack for after school and water for practice is recommended. 7th graders will use the Wylie locker room once school starts. Parents can pick their kids up in the bus loop after practice. 8th graders use the middle school locker rooms and can be picked up at Mill Creek.

Equipment: The school provides pads, helmets and pants. Parents are responsible for providing: a protective cup, cleats, and a mouthguard.

Game Days: Games are on Tuesdays . The game schedule is still being finalized but 7th grade games begin at 4:15 p.m. and 8th grade games begin at 5:30 p.m. Players are bused from Mill Creek to away games. The coach will require written notice 24hr in advance of an away game to allow a player to ride home with a designated parent. The 7th grade team walks with coaches to Al Ritt Field for home games. Pick up after games is at the bus loop behind Wylie for 7th graders. The kids will be able to get their school bags and leave equipment in their football lockers. 8th grade pick up will be at Mill Creek. Players are responsible for bringing home uniforms (and practice apparel) to be washed.

Volunteering: Every family is expected to volunteer since it takes about 20 adults to run each game! We’d like to show support for our varsity team by having 7th and 8th grade parents sign up to run the volunteer jobs during the Homecoming game. It would be great if the varsity parents could enjoy the game and their kids while taking a break from concessions, 50/50 raffle and chain gang. Parents of older students will likely help in concessions for Mill Creek games to avoid missing their child’s game. Please look for the Sign Up Genius and sign up to help on Friday, 9/27 or another date that works for you. Be sure to indicate that you are signing up as a football parent since our sport get profits for every parent that works concessions.

Fundraising: The DTC fundraising profits go directly towards the 7-12th grade football program. In the past, the DTC has purchased helmets and uniforms for the high school, game pants and shoulder pads for the middle school, awarded the CHIP scholarship, and supported all teams in community building events. This is not possible without the football families volunteering and supporting fundraising activities. Thank you for your contributions!

Spirit Wear: Don’t miss out on some sweet swag for you or your player! The hoodie and long sleeve shirt in the “player pack” are super nice and meant to be a special, player only option. This online store will open on Monday, 8/26 and close Monday, 9/9. Fans can order gear from the Dexter Football Fan Gear store, too. Both online stores can be found at http://www.DexterPrint.com.
